Have you tried the El Dorado 3 yr old? ******* Capn's Log : Nope, but we have reviewed the 5 - 8 - 12 - 15. The 5 was terrific, and so was the 8 yo. Unlike many other distillers, each offering stands on its own as the El Dorados are each different blends using various combinations of distillation fr...

Shopper's Vineyard in NJ was great for that, but they no longer ship spirits. I have gotten a 1 ltr Depaz Blue Cane Rhum for $20, Santa Teresa Selecto for $17, Versinthe absinthe for $13 (reg $45), among others. Would love to get some J M at a price like that. I found the Depaz interesting but I don...

Uisge - like you I am not a fan of Glenmorangie 10 yr / "Original", I find it rather bland with a weird finish. I do however quite like their Lasanta, probably the best reasonably-priced sherried single malt I have had yet.

Re: The Preacher Preaches Dept: Turning water to rum, er...

It's hard to be green... Then our expert Preacher further cautions "... How the water is added is important . You could just add this in a larger bottle and shake it up, but I would suggest adding an ounce every few hours and stirring it as you go. " He alludes to some kind of " chem...

I am a little confused on this rum - though I see no age statement on the bottle, I seem to remember at one time the NC site listed it as 4 years old, though it no longer does. Lance at Liquorature says the bottle he reviewed of "Blue Label Nelson's Blood" was 47.5%, while mine is 42 and d...

This has also carried over into Tequila, where these days most of the new brands you see are celebrity endorsed in fancy bottles with high price tags. DeLeon Tequila is a perfect example of this - some marketing type tried to make like Sidney Frank and buy an existing Tequila brand, jack the price u...

That might be the craziest thing I have ever heard. I could almost see if he was collecting Tequila that way, because they have some really interesting and crazy bottle designs.

Have you had the Santa Teresa Selecto Anejo? I can't seem to find any meaningful reviews of this rum, I got a bottle on closeout from Shopper's Vineyard for $17 ($30 suggested) and I rather like it. It's not in the fancy bottle seen here, but the name is the same http://www.proof66.com/single_displa...

I got Z-23 a year and a half ago at Total Wine in Orlando for $35. I also got the Zacapa XO - which I normally see for $80-100 or more - for $49 last fall from Shopper's Vineyard. Both are good but I would prefer any of the El Dorado 5-12-15 yrs all of which are cheaper. The Zacapa XO does have a ve...

NCyankee, of course Shopper's Vineyard would offer free shipping on Lagavulin OR Oban (or both!) when it's the END of the month and I am without dosh! :( Both are on sale at $71.99 each :!: Astor spirits has much better prices on both, $55 for the Lag and $60 for the Oban - the savings will more th...

One thing to keep in mind - if you get something they are offering with free shipping, the whole order will ship for free. A couple weeks ago they had Espolon tequila 2-packs for $40 which is a good price to begin with, and to save $25-30 on an order of several bottles is a no brainer. Unfortunately...

OH, and a 1 liter of Depaz Blue rhum agricole...since you asked  ******* Been shopping at Shopper's Vineyard Uisge? I just ordered a bottle of that the other day at closeout price of $20, as well as some Santa Teresa Anejo for $17, 2 1 ltr bottles of Palo Viejo white for $11 each, and - well, ...
