Ron Barcelo Imperial Premium Blend (30th Anniversary)
Smooth and mellow, easy to drink neat. Good balance of sweetness against the spices. Cool horseshoe bottle design, but hard to pour from. "30 year" is the anniversary, not the age of the rum itself which is a blend. IMG_9015 small.jpg 86 proof. Measures as 40.2% at 75F. Calibration (ref: 1...

Stade's Bond No 8
Stade's Bond No 8, no aging noted on bottle. Has the funky flavor I associate with pot stills. Lots of spices flavors, nice and bright. IMG_9011 small.jpg Measures at 41.3% at 75F, calibration correction (ref: 12 Year Seale) of 0.6% gives 41.9%. Translates to 0-5 g/L (as expected of a Barbados rum!)...

Frigate 15 Year
Frigate 15 year from Panama. Too sweet for my tastes. Ended up with a pretty bad headache after drinking.
Measures 37% at 23.9C, which corrects to 35.2%. Calibration of 0.6% (ref: 12 Year Seale) yields 16 g/L sugar.

896 Gold
IMG_9009 small.jpg Not so much of a review as a sugar measurement. Done at 23.9C. Correction against reference rum (Seale 12 year) is to add 0.6%. IMG_9010 small.jpg Believe this one comes out as 39.9% alcohol (compared to the 40% on label). Rum is quite good -- don't like it as much as Seale's 12 ...
