Sorry I haven't been around much...
but I got married a few months back, and with the moving, dealing with the wedding, getting settled into a "normal life", and a honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica (got to try Wray and Nephew, Havana Club and Bacardi 8 YO, too!), well, I hope you'll understand and maybe allow me a little slack...

Cap'n, please don't read this standing up
have a seat first, maybe enjoy a draw or two on a pipe with your choice of tobacco or a good cigar, THEN read this Kickstarter campaign that promises "Whisky your way" via oak sticks that are laser cut to allow more surface area for spirit to interact with. https://s3.amazonaws.com/ksr/ass...

If one wants to enjoy a revealing interview of 2 gents involved with Templeton, Mark Gillespie of Whiskycast has this episode for your enjoyment. Apparently, the parts where nothing is said in response to Mark's questions is more revealing than what IS said. Now I need to listen to it! Update:...

Rum ration and the Tommy in WW1
Found another fascinating rabbit trail while perusing through the otherwise light and PR-ish website The Drinks Business, a 15 part series written by one Rupert Millar titled "Wine and Warfare". From the first article, published Dec. 16, 2013 (a 2 page piece starting with Rome part 1 and p...

"Bulletproof coffee"...it's real, have ya tried it
It's amazing the rabbit trails one can go down on the interwebz, and what started out for me as a viewing a series from "Munchies" with a young lady named Charlet visiting several locations in Scotland over 5 videos that highlights Alba's natural abundance in foods (episode 1 features a &q...

This might be the "gateway" for me into coffee
And one would think that having worked as a busser at 2 espresso places after high school that I would have picked up at least a passing interest in a morning cup o' Joe, but it has not yet come to be. Back to the point I hinted at in the title of this thread. Via Food & Dining section of today'...
