Sadly no, not to my knowledge - its a case of the server where the stuff was literally frying.

I must say I've heard nothing but good about Mr. Seale, and the rums he makes are exceptional in quality. Hope to introduce his rums to new territories one day, because they deserve the market and positive attention! I must say that I made a special mention referring to him (with admiration & re...

Server down

Spoke to the Count, he stated that the server on which his website refined vices was hosted on was fried. :-(

Rum: Italian Rums - are well done!

The Italian rum scene is very active indeed, and they have some absolutely fantastic small-batch rums which are bottled under the Samaroli, Velier, Gargano labels. I have had the chance of tasting some of these while visiting Rome and checking out some of the better shops in town and must say that t...

I recently tasted the Plantation Guyana 18yo and it turned out to be quite a nice Demerara rum (possible Port Morant?). Dark in colour, having that powerful taste of a Demerara rum, long aftertaste. Mind you - do not expect it to be anywhere near as sweet & easygoing as anything El Dorado massma...

Too bad that personalities flare and people act like children in the internet. After posting messages on his site that were openly asking questions regarding rum production methods that Mr. Hamilton himself vaguely insinuated were used here & there, I was labeled Public Enemy No. 1 of Rum. I cou...

Good book, could be even better...

I think Dave Broom has done a great job with his book "Rum", but he too joins the ranks of rumwriters who fail to mention anything about the not-so-well-known-undisclosed practices that take place in some rum producing countries - and I mean the not-advertised-not-mentioned spicing of new ...

There's still today no agreement amongst rum producers on the rules, ingredients, methods - nothing. This to me as a rum lover is disappointing and leads to a situation where as a customer I cannot know what has caused my rum to taste as it does - equally disappointing. That's not exactly a guarante...

Gotta say the 1919 is a bit too strong in banana & vanilla for my liking, and a tad sweetish also. I much prefer the more "difficult" 1824, with all of its tons of layered flavours.

I cannot for the life of me consider Pyrat a rum - it tastes more like a orange liqueur than anything else. Is it good? It tastes pleasant, has a nice spiced flavour and is smooth. I would not personally sip it as such, but serve it with a dessert or in a cocktail. A rum...? Well, a spiced rum for s...

I think we should define "True Rum" (Or "Pure Rum") first, and I have made a suggestion of this on another website. 1. Sugar cane is the raw material used - be it in the form of cane juice, cane syrup, molasses of any degree or grade. 2. For fermentation, I would allow use of fru...

Hello Capn Jimbo and others, Thanks for the nice welcome. I have enjoyed sipping fine rum ever since basically reaching the age of tasting it (that would make over 20 years in time) and I have tremendous amount of respect for the spirit, its history, its makers and their skill. Whisky / Whiskey is a...
