Really really good that the information is being mentioned by many articles.. There is a need for rum buyers to understand what they are drinking.. Read the following the other day and could not stop thinking how much sugar such drink might have.. https://twitter.com/DrinkfinderUK/status/68433843152...

Really appreciate the fact that SV points his readers to the directions he considers worthwhile. Have been thinking about Clairins and Mezcal for some time now so need to get few samples. As for the post it is obvious that whisky and rum face serious issues. Rum needs to continue follow the "go...

Need to re-read it, but I think that 1988 Bristol is of the MEA style. Suspect that this is not as a good as the VSG style (have not tried both) as per people who have tried both and that is why this is still available on the market. I think the thewhiskycask Enmore 1990 is also of the same MEA styl...

FRP, Thanks for the Ancient Mariner tip. I did not know that it was Caroni. Regarding the Plantation, I have to say that lately the market has shifted and you dont find bottles of a supposed age (from 80s or early 90s). Most of the Caroni's sold now are from 96/97 and onwards. Demerara/Jamaica bottl...

Plenty of time to make a decision.
Still 13 bottles left.

Lots of Caroni seems to be issued by different IBs. The Rum Cask has one from 97. Velier is getting out a 17yo.
I wonder how long this will last. Hope lots so we can build supplies for the future!

If it is the same, Drekon has good words about it.
Expensive so I am in two minds between this and the 1990 Providence.

So found the following in the amountofcrushedice website "Trinidad 1989 – This rum doesn´t exist anymore and is a blend of pot and column stills. It`s fruity and spicy, rounded and rich. A glimpse of the past…." Do you this could be a Caroni or Angostura? And do all Plantation rum have sug...

Bought a sample and tried this and have to say it was quite good for its years. Very sippable. Noce quite like cognac (to me at least)..

Changing a bit the subject, but anyboby knows if the "Plantation Trinidad 25 Year Old (cask 4/7) " is good or not?
Is it a true 25 year old?

You could be right but Velier has build some good following over the last years. -In many rum review sites, their products are considered as the top. -In many forums they are considered as the products that everyone wants to get when they are released. And he is in good cooperation with few rum dist...

Foursquare Port Cask 9 yo

From bought sample.
Really nice. You can smell the bourbon influence. Very easy going and smooth.
Reminds me lot a sherry cask whisky.

Colour is one of the few senses we have and it is one of the most tangible ones.
I can understand the reason of consistency but customers should value uniqueness as well. All 12 year old do not need to taste the same. The years will matter.
