A lively discussion ensued... Dai, thanks much for your post. It may be too soon to ask, but the Project is based on Dave Brooms basic stlyles of rum, rather than the relatively meaningless commercial categories of white, gold, aged, etc. The real test of a true category is that a blind taster ough...

Do you mean it has an alcohol bite or that there are some sharp flavours that would be better dulled? I take it it is bottled at 40% have you tried just adding a teaspoon or two of water to smooth it out and also perhaps bring out some hidden flavours? A bit of alcohol bite to it and yes I use a te...

Just having a second crack at this rum neat what a nice little rum. A bit rough but with an ice cube you could use it as a sipper if pushed. Quite a nice little rum. makes a great mixer.

One thing came across abundantly clear to me in the MOR forum was that the ordinary guy who buys his rum for his own drinking pleasure could see the implications of this tax deal for what it is. These people get it and they are quite pissed off about it because they know it means more expensive rum ...

I'm with you on this. I think these so called rum experts know didly squat about what is going on and are just covering there backs as far as the freebie train is concerned. Personally no one should of been banned the thread was one of dissent on the tax issue. No one was attacked on a personal leve...

Re: Expert's Corner: Seldom Heard speaks...

What's the "Expert's Corner"? This is where the commercial and faux commercial wannabees end up. These are just ordinary putzes who just happen to possess ego and time enough to put up a "rum website". They are almost never - well, never actually - qualified as real authorities....

Yes sure I'm not you and, I have been reading the thread on USVI/Puerto Rico rip off, a very interesting thread. I didn't know about the $13.50 tax slipped in the fiscal cliff budget. That's really going to hurt the Caribbean rum producers.
