I too received broken hydros and was sent another set, but am finding them difficult to use. I have not been able to get them to float in any rum... I'm using the 100ml cylinder but, it seems not tall enough? Nomad, please contact me by PM here and let me know what procedure you were using: 1. Name...

Right, mama. I started looking into the instruments last night in greater depth (cough). Anyway, I'm hunting for something with higher accuracy on the used market. I can't (and don't want to) help myself - I've always been this way :) I also want to do everything up to and including my overproofs w...

OK, that clears THAT up. Thanks Wes. Now I'd just like to know the ages of the white rums, and some intended release dates! Waiting for the UK/European release dates as well....... I will guess that if they don't have an age statement then they will be be "unaged" I've never seen a rum bo...

Whisky cask has a new Hampden out. Missed the last one so i am quite keen on the new batch or their samples which are very cheap. BAT has a review of the Enmore and the price is v good... That Whisky/Rum Cask site looks very interesting. Some really good bottles there and they ship to the UK. Thank...

I wonder why they haven't put the age statements on the whites. If they'll put a 2yr age statement on the Foursquare it can't be because they're ashamed of the youth!!! Would like to know the distillation date on the Port Mourant white. Also, what do we know about Forsyth's as a distillery? Is this...

Re: Anyone in the US ever ordered from The Whiskey Exchange?

Just wondering how everything went if you ordered from them. I was looking at their site and they have some stuff I can't get here in PA so I was thinking about biting the bullet and getting a couple of bottles. I know I'll be paying a premium but I can't get this stuff over here at all. They offer...

2nd batch. It's something I need to try. I don't believe in commenting on things until I've tried them whenever possible.

I've not tasted these at all, but all I have heard is that they are very tasty. Makes me wonder if they are anything like the Savanna high-ester white rum I HAVE tasted, the Lontan? No idea..But for an unaged product the price is pretty high (ahh, of course it is possible to say that it's due to th...

This was an interesting find (the translated regulations). In the global rum club, an ambassador of Venezuelan rum was assuring me that I am wrong about a number of claims regarding Venezuelan rum some time ago - so I went on a search for the regulatory texts, but the Venezuelan sites were interest...

Plenty of time to make a decision. Still 13 bottles left. Lots of Caroni seems to be issued by different IBs. The Rum Cask has one from 97. Velier is getting out a 17yo. I wonder how long this will last. Hope lots so we can build supplies for the future! Still a lot of Caroni readily available from...

Bought a sample and tried this and have to say it was quite good for its years. Very sippable. Noce quite like cognac (to me at least).. Changing a bit the subject, but anyboby knows if the "Plantation Trinidad 25 Year Old (cask 4/7) " is good or not? Is it a true 25 year old? https://www...

So Cyril do you think it's a coincidence that such a system is being proposed just as Velier are about to launch a release of pot stilled rums? It really doesn't take a genius to work it out does it? this system was proposed for years in fact :) i even talked about it with Luca 2 years ago, ...

that classification proposed by Luca Gargano is few years old Note also that even in a perfect world of instantly efficient government where this proposal got adopted today, the labels for the new Velier products are already designed and approved, and the regulations would have to be slowly phased ...

that classification proposed by Luca Gargano is few years old, it aint that new to be accurate. i find it good for rum as a whole, and for us as consumers. Classify rums by its primary source (molasses or pure juice) and method of production (pot stills, traditional and industrial column) is all ri...
