Guinness and Puncheon (overproof) are rumored to help libido. I yelled out Guinness, and he...

Wray and Nephew kinda reminds me of Tequila. I don't know how to describe it... vegetal? grassy? Anyway, it goes great with a Ting soda (apparently a favorite cocktail of Appleton Master Blender Joy Spence) or any other citrus flavors. I think all Jamaican rum goes well with Ginger Beer and lime. I ...

Rum at Trinidad Carnival (some I remember more than others)

I went to carnival in Trinidad, and here is my rundown of my experience with the local offerings. These are my impressions and memories of different rums, as opposed to a detailed review. Long story short, I liked them all, but some I liked more than others. Vat 19 In Trinidad, they have what they c...

California Love

Hi! I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area. My love for rum stems from my love of Caribbean culture. I got into rum as part of my preparation for dancing in carnival parades, since responsible drinking is a big part of the experience. My name comes from one of my favorite drinking songs from Barbados: ...
