Ron Botran 1893 made of molasses?

Hi,

I read this rum is made with molasses.

But the old version was made with sugar cane syrup.

Is it an error????

Do you advice me this rum???

In a word, yes...


The notion that this rum is made from molasses is an error. It has always been promoted as being made from sugar cane "honey" (which is just thickened cane juice). Botran calls this "virgin cane honey". It is nothing more than fresh pressed cane juice which is then heated and thickened into a "honey" or syrup (which can be stored - unlike the juice - for later fermentation).

sugar cane "honey" didn't know this was just sugar cane juice heated for storage purposes.
