Captain Jim(bo)'s Drunken Dream

Post by bearmark »

I enjoy listening to James Taylor and ran across this song the other day while sampling In the Pocket from 1976. The song is "Captain Jim's Drunken Dream" and here are some notable lyrics:
James Taylor wrote:To see me now is like watching a fish on dry land. I only wish you could see me down in the islands.
James Taylor wrote:Up here I'm just a whiskey bum, but down there I'm a king.
James Taylor wrote:Now, I know that the Yankee whiskey has taken away my mind, and I know that rum is the only drink suitable to mankind.
This message brought to you for your pure, unaldulterated rum entertainment and pleasure (and clearly marked that way)... and now back to our irregular and unscheduled programming.

Yo ho, Mate!
