Leadership Dept: Adding Sugar to - ugh - to BS

Post by Capn Jimbo »

Bacardi Superior (BS) - the prime candidate for sugaring...

Another huge thanks to Che who could not have better illustrated the reason why unlabeled sugar is key in fudging cheap rums for palatability. As a true believer he simply refused to use Bacardi Superior, even though as I - no less than the Capn - strongly urged. He - like da'Rum - has a sense of ethics that he refused to compromise.

I of course, am far less ethical and in an unusual act of rare leadership have decided to bite the bullet, lift the tail of the dog and stick my nose into this affair. Thus...

I actually bought one!

And why? Because as mentioned, according to the lists of sugared rum posted by Dai (link below) , BS Rum - at 0gr/l - is the perfect candidate. It's completely free of sugar, very young and certainly not a sipper in any remote sense of the word. Let's see if we can make it one.

When I arrived home with a good Polish vodka and the BS Rum in hand, even Sue Sea looked askance at moi. "What?! What the heck is that? I can't believe you brought that into our home!". I quickly explained the sacrificial task at hand, which mollified her to a point. But not much. Reluctantly she agreed to participate in the alteration. Pretty nice of her, wouldn't you agree, not to mention her exquisite palate.

So... stay tuned. Trust me, this will NOT happen again.

Your self sacrifice in commitment to the betterment of society has me in tears and standing in my lounge room with my hand on my heart and singing the star spangled banner at the top my voice. I am inspired go write a piece of moving bugle music like the last post or Revelie only better. So go forth gallant Captain I look forward to reading the missives sent from deep within the bleak landscape that is bacardi territory.

I was drinking a big cup of inspiration! If our trusty Cap'n is willing to throw himself onto the dull bacardi sword for the betterment of us all,how could you not want to stand on your milkcrate coffee table and sing 'captain my captain!'?. You would have to have a soul darker than a Welsh coal mine not to be moved by this planned act. The Cap'n won't receive any medals or media coverage for his acts but he bloody well should. Drinking bacardi free of will takes a fortitude and gay abandon seldom heard of in our lives. I think that if you, Dai, really give this thought you will concede that we are witnessing something unique in the history of mankind and we should feel privileged for it.

My soul must be dark indeed, either that or I've not had enough to drink.
