Panama rum?

Post by edgarallanpoe »

I see some options on my state liquor store website for some rum from Panama. I never had anything (that I know of) from that country and was wondering what style of rum that is most associated with them. I know that any country can make any style but which style are they most associated with?

Spanish style "ron" Column Distilled. The Mezan Panama's from the San Jose Distillery are very good - no additives whatsoever. A lot better than Ron de Jeremy.

The Mezan one was exactly the one I was looking at. Thanks.

I've got the 1995 and 1999 editions - both are outstanding

Unfortunately, the only one I have access to is the 2004 and I have to order 3 bottles of it. I am probably going with the Jamaican 2000 first and then get this about a month from now.
