So we've had a lot of discussion about independent bottlers, etc, but those rums start at $70ish and go into the hundreds.
What are the least altered $10-20, everyday rums?
Immediately Anything Foursquare and the Barbancourts spring to mind, as does WN overproof and Pusser's. Is there anything else? Token caramel coloration, chill filtration, etc, are all OK in this regard.
Least altered cheaper rums

Speaking only of what I find in Georgia.
RL Seale 10 - $21 at Total Wine
Doorly's XO - $15 at Total Wine
Flor de Cana 7yo $21 anywhere, can be found cheaper
Used to get Matusalem Gran Reserve for $19,99, but now $30 - not worth it.
Westerhall runs low $20s maybe altered, maybe not but pleasant for what it is.

I'm sure I don't need to say this, buttttttt...
Of course I do believe most of us would add the Barbancourt White and especially the VERY undermentioned 3 Star. And as far as Seale's goes, in addition to his wonderful Doorly's don't forget his Barbados Special, and perhaps Old Brigand and Rum Sixty Six. Bajan Cockspur is worthy of inclusion. I'd consider too the much misunderstood the Ron Viejo de Caldas (which is actually cane juice based despite what you may have read).
All under $20. I'm not sure how many would still include the ED White 3 year, or the wonderful ED 5 year (very underrated) as ED has been outed by JaRiMi (but even if so certainly can be included if Ron Matusalem is likewise). On this basis the Santa Teresa Rum Ron Anejo (2-5yrs) is also a must consider - a truly dangerous rum.
Some of you may be lucky enough to find a bottle of Rhum Negrita Bardinet (cane juice based) - a full liter for well under $20 - or some of the older discontinued Mount Gay's (like "Sugar Cane"). I've seen St. James Ambre being sold in the low to mid $20's as well. The FdCana 5 year has been sold for $20. Even Eclipse and Appleton V/X are sippable for those who like young and vigorous expressions. I also think it sometimes shortsighted to discount brilliant rums like Wray & Nephews OP based on the myth that while high proof whiskies are commonly diluted to sip, that somehow its less than manly to properly do so with an OP.

I missed what JaRiMi said about ED - could you repost it?
*******
Capn's Log: JaRiMi has been following ED for years and is of the opinion that it has changed, is "sweeter", i.e. not for the better. Still, ED maintains a good bit of their heritage and a considerable number of their famous old stills (despite the fact that their new stills do most of the work).
