Does this mean we can sue the big 3 now for making swill that isn't to the letter of the law?
Would the US gov step in to save them if someone did raise a suit?

To be accurate...
...the merging of the mega-corporations with their well lobbied, revolving door regulators means that one cannot be reliably separated from the other. The same goes for the politicians which are completely owned - lock, stock and barrel - by those very same corporate mega-dollars.
Government was the only answer with size and clout large enough to take on the corporations until unlimited, massive and secret dollars from the 0.1% turned our representatives into theirs. It then became a corporatocracy by and for and representing the few voices of their corporate masters, no little thanks to Citizen's United.
These financial monsters - despite lip service otherwise - depend on a weak and compliant government to pass their corporate written laws, tax subsidies, loopholes and anti-competitive legislation so that they can continue their corporate sponsored rape and transfer of public dollars to them.
The "government" is a necessary cover and shield for their fraudulent activities, with elections being little more than infotainment with both parties actually a duopoly of Repugnicrats, all of which have no choice but to cooperate.
Reagan actually increased the size of government, a trend carried forward by both parties ever since and for the same reasons - to legitimize their sodomy of the public.
But I digress...
A brilliant post by da'Rum that is or should be of great interest (and support) by all. Since corporatocratic deballing of the union movement, and cowering public whose concern is simple survival, it is left to the private legal establishment to bring balance and to enforce the law.
Good on them. A great lawsuit, and long overdue. May there be many more. As for the corporate tail known as the TTB, it doth not wag for thee.
