Some rum suggestions please

Ok folks...in the words of my beautiful Caribbean wife "You does be da expahts". So here goes my question...

I have really been enjoying Smith and Cross rum. I love the huge fruit, caramel, spice aroma and the heavy, rich mouthfeel. From what I have gathered here, that is due to the high ester content of the blended rums. If I am wrong on that, feel free to correct me.

Could any of you please recommend some more high ester rums in this vein?

Rums from

Hampden Estate, Monymusk and Worthy Park will all fit the bill. Try some aged Independent bottlings if you can find some in the USA.

We are spoilt over here with a lot of Cadenhead and BBR Jamaican rums amongst others.

Unfortunately, I can't get them where I live. The only one I can get is a very young Worthy Park white rum. None of their other rums.

The RumBar White rum is very good. When it comes to Jamaican rum especially the style you are after age is not a factor. In fact it is but the younger the more "funky"

I bought one rum called rum fire not long ago. Its from Hampden estate and is a great cheap mixer. It is said to have esters at 500 ppm. Its a full pot still distillation in a Forsyth copper pot still, that shows we don't need to spend 50 Euros on a fully pot stilled, high proof, high ester rum. Its just starting to pop up around the country so keep an eye peeled if you are into this niche segments of rums.
