What a dick...



There's quite a nice series of posts by Bundaberg over at the Shillery, a website frequented by a handful of promoters and cageful of clonic monkeys. Now monkeys being what they are, there is always a grunting, and butt picking competition among the primates to establish one or another's alpha status.

Here's what happened. A Bundaberg rep established a thread posting pictures of this Australian distiller's many special issue rums. This was actually fascinating as Bundaberg is not well known outside of Aussieland, where their favorite rum is held in very high regard. When a new issue is released, hundreds of fans show up to obtain their bottle of these limited releases. The bottles are quite handsome, and it's clear that Bundaberg is held in quite the same kind of esteem in Australia as Wray and Newphews Overproof is held in Jamaica.

Universal that is.

The rep began this fascinating series about Bundaberg stating: "Since many overseas rum drinkers dont really know a lot about Bundaberg Rum, i thought i would post some bottle images and information each week about some of the many Bundaberg Rum bottles.". No pretense, honest and accurate. And very interesting.


But theres always one real gluteus grabber in the crowd...

Now mind you the Shillery is known for dumping on distillers who interrupt their non-stop circle jerk. Sometimes this is even the Preacher, who has been known to summarily dismiss them and "liberate" them from his private commercial playground (think Ron de Jeremy). But in this case, he not only allowed Bundaberg to establish and continue what was really a polite and interesting series of luscious photos and information about rums releases almost unknown outside of Australia; he even promised to add Bundaberg to his database. Not bad, eh?

Nope.

Apparently that wasn't good enough for the red-assed, alpha-status-seeking Jolipoopoo who had the bloated nads to make crude insults as "Truly, Bundaberg is better as a collection item than to drink.", and "IMHO: - It seems this brand needs "collectors" to be known (wonder why as you never meet any anywhere in RoW) - Let's be glad other rum brands don't spam also". Obviously he seems to be telling Bundaberg, in so many words, to stiff. er stuff it.

Or would it be better to tell this hairy fleabag to go perform an unnatural act on himself? Or simply toss him the earned reward of a nice fresh hard banana to suck on? And what will the Prophet do? You decide...


Bottom Line

I found the Bundaberg thread both visually interesting and quite informative. Any rum that is so highly valued in its country of origin is worth knowing about and obtaining. The thread t is well worth visiting, and the Preacher should be commended. As for Jolipoopoo...
