New Amsterdam

F. Paul Pacult calls gin "...the best of white spirits for cocktails and my favorite overall white spirit." That's saying something. Gin has all the finesse and sophistication that vodka never will. Best yet, true world class gins can be purchased in the $20 range. A very few valid wodkas (and Everclear) appear here!

New Amsterdam

Fruity. Maybe a little too sweet for me, but it would make for a nice gin & tonic. I think I'd rather have Gordon's.

FWIW...

I've enjoyed New Amsterdam straight up, with perhaps a few cubes, as an easy drinking accompaniment to a good cigar...

I like New Amsterdam Gin and consider it the best cheap gin I've had (about $17 for a handle here). I really enjoy Hendricks (modern style gin), but this is a much more economical alternative. My favorite yet is Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin.

I've been trying to be concise with reviews, so I wrote a haiku:

New Amsterdam Gin:
sweeter than what I'm used to
but fruity and nice
