Another kinda sorta review...

By Moi at tobaccoreviews.com:
"Burley, Cavendish, Virginia
Flavoring - Cream, Honey, Molasses, Nougat, Sweet / Sugar, Vanilla

I bought a couple ounces of this blend based on the reviews here (a solid 3.0) and was not disappointed. The pouch note is a deep dark fruit (think figs or raisin) overlaid with vanilla. The cut is a broad, rough ribbon, and yes a few stems but no worries really.

Light up is lovely and this is where the Virginia and especially Burley make themselves known in this dark tobacco. Those who call it a lightly aromatic American are right. No real bite, but even with sipping my rather thin-walled Falcon bowl was rather warm - a reminder to slow down. Even without much drying this blend burns beautifully, with only a couple re-lights, but not because it needed them. Left a small wet dottle, but almost nothing made it through into the Falcon's aluminum bowl.

More than a few others pointed out this blend's better quality tobaccos that made their presence lightly and pleasantly known throughout the smoke. Call it a tobacco-forward, light aromatic. Very nice, easy smoking - one that burns so well you'll let it go out just to take a break. Would absolutely buy again, without question over 1Q.

Pipe Used: Falcon

Age When Smoked: 3 weeks

Purchased From: Local tobacconist as his house "special"

Similar Blends: 1Q and the Captain (White).
This is yet another step up the aromatic ladder from 1-Q, to BCA, to RLP-6, to HGL, to Sutliff's Aromatic English, to Sutliff's R-Blend (an American English). What a journey! Each step is both valid and enjoyable.
