JW Green Label in 2 words

What is feckin whiskey doing on the net's leading independent rum website? There's a reason, read on, but it's not my fault! Honest...

With the Green Label fading from production, would you try t ohoard a few bottles of it, or, would you seek other brands of whisky as a substitute?

Yes, JW Green Label for me, as long as I can get my hands on it!

JW Green Label in 2 words

Post by Uisge »

Having fun posting on another LW thread that the good Cap'n has left wanting, er, has sagely and with great foresight kept the readers thereof in suspense (could we please have your review of JW Red Label, good sir?), the mention of JW Green Label had me post about it, and I confessed that I didn't quite "get" it.

That didn't sit right with me, and when I thought about having some tonight, I added a small amount of distilled water to my pour, which did help reduce the strong cinnamon-into-pepperminty flavor that rushes in to the back of the tongue about midway through.

Having a few sips over the better part of an hour, I began to enjoy it more than I had in the past, and then the part of my mind that had taken the problem of trying to describe the flavor after the initial honey sweetness, as "pepperminty" was not quite right and a little too vague.

Then the light bulb went off....so I had to change it...nah, just kidding!

The flavor that I was looking for was "spice drops"...particularly the white minty ones with a hint of the black liquorice underneath, then fading into cocoa.

So there ya go, when you think of JW Green Label, think "Spice Drops"!
