The changing taste of rum

I use to enjoy a Morgans and coke years ago but now it tastes awful. Just wondering if the recipe has changed over the years or is it my taste buds that have changed.

I'm sure your taste buds have improved, though I wouldn't be surprised if the Captain has become even more rancid as well
