Thanks, but let me say...

that Sue Sea suffered an accident that took us to the hospital. Hopefully, she will be discharged today. She'll likely be all right, but her recovery is expected to take several weeks at the least, and it will be a challenging time for her. And like all such events, the eventual outcome is not guaranteed.

Needless to say medical events such as this and all the many possibilties entailed, from trivial to terrible, do weigh heavily on one's mind, especially while the outcome is unclear. It goes without saying that I love her dearly and will support her in every possible way, as always and especially during this period.

I know we already have your best wishes, but please feel free to post any messeges or PM's to Sue Sea, and I'll be sure to read them to her.

Thanks. It will be a much Happier New Year if she comes home today! Our best to all of our regulars who enjoy her reviews as the good cop, and who likewise put up with moi as the bad one.

Peace to all...

Sorry to hear of Sue's accident, and I do hope she has returned back to home to recuperate today.

Here's to a better year in 2014!

A special thanks from Sue Sea...

...to whom I read your good wishes. Unlike me, Sue Sea is a gentle, kind and loving soul who cares for all those she knows. She is a true positive force in our troubled world.

She was very moved that all of you took the time to write and were thinking of her. So am I. Our mutual thanks to all.

Sorry to say...

The injury suffered by Sue Sea in December was a concussion, with residual symptoms the doctors said might take months to slowly resolve. Just as things were beginning to improve - you guessed it - because of her unsteadiness she suffered another last night and had to be readmitted for further testing.

The good news is that the tests were all negative (good), and she was discharged to home - but all the previous symptoms were exacerbated and her recovery begins anew. Her condition can be compared to those of football and soccer players injured in sport. Although slow recovery is likely, it is by no means assured, particularly after another injury. To the good, her chances are much better than those who suffer repeated insults over years in violent sports.

A strange byproduct of her injury is that some of her senses like vision, hearing, sight and smell are more sensitive. Her palate is better than ever. Still, it goes without saying that we'd trade all of those in a microsecond for recovery from the usual post-traumatic symptoms: intermittent episodes of nausea, dizzyness, confusion, vertigo and blurred vision.

These were all resolving until yesterday. Sue Sea is a very strong, spiritual and positive person. We begin again...

Wow! Somehow I missed this with all of the year end confusion, etc. I'm very sorry to hear about Sue's accident and wish her a full and speedy recovery!

Sorry to hear of Sue's setback. I am toasting her recovery with a splash of Appleton's Master Blender's Legacy. Be well!
